There was along felt need to improve the connectivity of the Electronic City, home to some of the Global IT and ITes companies to the City and improve the connectivity to the rapidly growing industrial belt along Hosur Road housing famous brands like Biocon, Narayana Hrudayalaya by widening and improving the existing 4 lane divided carriageway National Highway from Silk Board Junction to Inter State Border and provide Elevated Express connectivity to Electronic City.

To meet this long felt need, NHAI conceived the Project in two parts; widening 4 lane divided carriageway NH 7 to 6 lane, providing 2 lane two way Service Roads on both sides, providing pedestrian underpasses and 4 lane two way Elevated Road between Silk Board Junction and Electronic City Junction,on BOT basis and: widening 4 lane divided carriageway NH 7 to 6 lane, providing pedestrian underpasses, flyovers between Electronic City Junction and Inter State Border under own aegis concurrently.

BETL to operate,collecting user fees and maintain the Elevated Road and At Grade Roads for 18 years after commencement of Commercial Operations.
